(c) The government has advanced the dates for implementation of the BS-V and BS-VI norms for the automobile sector by three years to address the deteriorating air quality. The BS-V norms will come into effect from April 2019 as against the earlier timeline of April 2022 and BS-VI norms will come into effect from April 2021, as against April 2024.
