(2) Marked price = Rs. 12000
Discount = 25% of 12000 = Rs. 3000
Therefore, selling price = Rs. (12000 – 3000) =Rs. 9000
= 90% of cost price
Therefore, cost price = Rs. 10,000
Dealer should get a profit of Rs. 440, hence selling price should be Rs.10440
Let the required discount % = x %
(100 – x) % of 12000 = 10440 x= 13%
