(1) Insulin is a polypeptide hormone which is secreted from the a-cells of pancreas. Insulin decreases blood glucose level by increasing utilization of glucose ,glucogenesis and synthesis of fat (lipogenesis).It promotes fat synthesis. Thus insulin is an anabolic hormone.
