In a step aimed at boosting Buddhist and religious tourism, a direct AC bus service between Vnrnnnsi and Kathmandu was flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilcsh Yndav in Varanasi on 3 March 2015. This is the second direct bus service between Nepal and India after the one linking Kathmandu and New Delhi
