Queen Elizabeth II reigned since her father's death in 1952, (she celebrated her Diamond Jubilee i.e. 60 years as queen) until she passed away in 2022. She was married to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Her eldest son, King Charles III (previously known as the Prince of Wales) became the sovereign monarch in 2022. His eldest son, heir to the throne, Prince William is the new Prince of Wales.
