(D) The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989,provides a presumption for an offence of abetment if a person has provided aid to the accused person for the commission of any offence under the Act. Where a group of persons committed an offence under this Act and it is proved that the offence committed was a sequel to any exiting dispute regarding land or any other matter, it shall presumed that the offence was committed in furtherance of the common intention or in prosecution of the common object.
