Let total number of shots be x

The number of shots fired by A

The number of shots fired by B

= \frac{3}{8} x

The number of shots missed by B

The number of killing shots by A

= \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{5}{8} x = \frac{5}{24} x

Now,

\frac{3}{16} x = 27

\therefore x = 144

Then,

\frac{5}{24} x = \frac{5}{24} \times 144 = 30

Hence, A has killed 30 birds.
