The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $120 million loan agreement to complete doubletracking and electrification of railway tracks along high-density corridors in India and improve operational efficiency of the country's railway networks in March 2018 . Sameer Kumar Khare, Joint Secretary (Multilateral Institutions), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, signed the loan on behalf of the Union Government, while Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB's India Resident Mission, signed the agreement on behalf of ADB.
