(3) Water has a density of 1.0 kg/l(= 1,000 g/l). Kerosene has a density of 0.820 kg/l (= 820 g/l) It is also seen that when kerosene is mixed with water, after sometime it appears to float on the surface of water. Hence, the density of kerosene is less than that of water.
