Statement I :

9x^2 + 3x - 2 = 0

⇒

9x^2 + 6x - 3x - 2 = 0

⇒

3x(3x + 2) - 1(3x + 2) = 0

⇒

(3x - 1)(3x + 2) = 0

⇒

x = \frac{1}{3}, \frac{-2}{3}

Statement II :

8y^2 + 6y + 1 = 0

⇒

8y^2 + 4y + 2y + 1 = 0

⇒

4y(2y + 1) + 1(2y + 1) = 0

⇒

(4y + 1)(2y + 1) = 0

⇒

y = \frac{-1}{4}, \frac{-1}{2}

∴ No relation can be established.
