From school R,

Carrom players = 200

Selected players for state level competition =

\frac{200 \times 45}{100}

= 90

Selected players for national level competition =

\frac{90 \times 30}{100}

= 27

From school Q,

Selected played for state level competition =

\frac{225 \times 40}{100}

= 90

Selected players for nationallevel competition = 90 ×

\frac{2}{3}

= 60

∴ Required number of students= 27 + 60 = 87
