Godavari is the second largest river basin in India that covers 10% of the country's area. It rises from Brahmagiri Mountain,Tryambakeshwar, in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. It passes through the Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh and ultimately merges into Bay of Bengal. The total length of the river of is 1465km and it is famously known as Dakshina Ganga. Its main tributaries are Indravati, Purna, etc.
