Bhushan Patwardhan, professor, Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University, was in September 2018 appointed the vicechairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for three years. He was earlier interviewed for the post of chairman of UGC as well.
