The basic rules of APA style referencing are: • All entries in alphabetical order by the first wordof the entry • The reference section is double-spaced. • Indent after the first line of each entry • Entries are not numbered • If no author is listed, begin entry with title • Invert author's name: last name followed by first and middle initials • Titles of books, journals, magazines, and newspapers in italics. • List up to seven (7) authors. • In case of eight (8) or more authors, use only the first six (6) and then ellipses (...) ending with the last author. • Capitalize ONLY the first word of a title, the first word of a subtitle, and proper nouns in titles of books and articles • Give dates in Year, Month, Day format (e.g. 1999, December 20) in parenthesis after the author's name (or title if no author is listed)
