(a) Bodh Gaya is a sacred Buddhist place located on the Niranjana River. Bodh Gaya is 100 km south of Patna situated on banks of Phalgu River (old name ‘Niranjana’).It is a sacred place for Jain, Hindu and Buddhist religions. Located in the Indian state of Bihar, it is said to be the place where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. Bodh Gaya is one of the four important pilgrimage sites related to Gautam Buddha’s life.
