(b) The cycling of elements in an ecosystem is called biogeochemical cycle in which conserved matter moves through the biotic and abiotic parts of an ecosystem. The most important biogeochemical cycles are Carbon cycle, Nitrogen cycle and Water cycle. The biogeochemical cycle always has a state of equilibrium.
