(d) 17th SAARC (2011) conference was held in Addu City. The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established with the signing of SAARC charter in Dhaka on 8th December, 1985. SAARC comprises of eight-member nations –Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan,India, Maldives, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Secretariat of the Association was set up in Kathmandu on January 17, 1987.
