(b) Tirugyan was not an alvar saint.Alvar (Azhvar), is a group of South Indian mystics who from the 7th to 10th century wandered from temple to temple singing ecstatic hymns inadoration of god Vishnu. Their counterpart among followers of god Shiva were Nayanars. Poyagai,Pudam, and Tirumangai were Alvarsaints .
