(b) Sikh community has the lowest sex ratio in India as disclosed in the additional data pertaining to the Census 2011. There were 828 girls in the age-group of 0 to 6 years in the Sikh community in comparison to 1,000 boys. According to the 2011 Census, 79.8% of the population of India practises Hinduism and 14.2% adheres to Islam, while the remaining 6%adheres to other religions(Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism,Jainism and others).
