(b) The highest peak of Indian Peninsula is Anaimudi having an elevation of 8,842 ft. It is located in Idukki district of Kerala in Anaimalai hills, and is also known as the Everest of South India. Eravikulam National Park is situated surrounding it and is home to the largest surviving population of the Nilgiri tahr. The term Aanamudi is a Malayalam word which means “elephant’s forehead”.
