(d) Indiscriminate use of fertilisers has led to soil, water and air pollution. Excessive use of fertilisers runs off into waterways,causing water pollution and adverse effects on marine organisms. Excessive use also degrades the quality of soil and increases salinity. Fertilisers are also transported with the wind and through hydro logical cycle, thus polluting the environment.
