(d) Smog is a type of intense air pollution. It is named after joining words smoke and fog. It is mainly caused by the atmospheric presence of oxides of Nitrogen and Sulphur. These pollutants released directly into the air by gasoline and diesel-run vehicles, industrial plants and activities, and heating due to human activities.
