(a) The Mansabdari system was the official nobility of the Mughal Empire introduced by Akbar. It was the base of civil and military administration. The mansabdar was responsible for maintaining his salary, and other formal burdens from the jagir or cash. It was not based on the hereditary right instead king appointed them from time to time.
