Statement (c) is not correct regarding NIIF. National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIFF) was set up in December 2015 to catalyse funding into the country’s infrastructure sector. It has been registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a Category II Alternate Investment Fund. It has a targeted corpus of ` 40,000 crores to be raised over the years — 49% of it will be funded by the government at any given point of time. The remaining 51% will be raised from the domestic and global investors, including internationa pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and multilateral/bilateral investors. The National Investment Fund (NIF) was set up in November 2005 for channelising the proceeds from the disinvestment of Central Public Sector Enterprises.
