Percentage increase = (increase in number of category E employees from 2019 to 2020) divided by the number in 2019, multiplied by 100.

Explanation:

Total employees in 2019 = 4000.

Category E percentage in 2019 = 27%.

So, number of category E employees in 2019 =

\frac{27}{100} \times 4000 = 1080

Total employees in 2020 = 5000.

Category E percentage in 2020 = 27%.

So, number of category E employees in 2020 =

\frac{27}{100} \times 5000 = 1350

Increase =

1350 - 1080 = 270

Percentage increase =

\frac{270}{1080} \times 100 = 25\%
