● The inaugural issue of Young India, the official organ of the New-York based India Home Rule League of America (IHRLA) was published in January1918. ● The IHRLA was founded by Lala Lajpat Rai, who resided in the United States from 1914-1919. ● Servants of the People Society was founded by Lala Lajpat Rai in 1921 at Lahore, which was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. Hence, both the statements is correct. ● NOTE - The Servants of India Society was formed in Pune, Maharashtra, on June 12, 1905 by Gopal Krishna Gokhale, who left the Deccan Education Society to form this association. ● After partition, the Society was shifted to Delhi and is operating since then at Lajpat Bhawan, Lajpat Nagar. ● The object of the Society is to enlist and train national missionaries for the service of the motherland. ● It was their duty to work for the educational, cultural, social, economic and political advancement of the country under the supervision of the Society.
