Cultivable Wasteland (Reh) is the land in which crops were raised for some period of time but has not been cultivated for the last five years due to certain deficiencies like alkalinity and salinity in the soils. Reh is infertile fine sand-like soil that is white in colour. It is basic in nature. Rehdoesn't hold water but extensive use of fertilizers and irrigation can support paddy farming. Cultivable wastes are locally known as reh, bhur, usar, and Khola in some parts of North India. Rajasthan has a very high share of cultivable wasteland in total land use.
