Academic excellence is the only requirement for successful career

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I am Avneet Kaur of Mira Modern School. I will be speaking against the topic 'Academic excellence is the only requirement for a successful career'.
If a student is good only in academic, he will be like 'a frog in the well'. Versatility is the keyword these days. One needs to excel as a whole and be an all-rounder.
The whole world has become a global village, and life's challenges have become more demanding. Higher ' EQ ' is required these days than a higher 'IQ'. In places of work you need to handle several people of different temperaments and being just into academics, does not help.
One must not only be theoretical but should also be very practical in one's approach. Theoretical knowledge is not sufficient in real life situations. On the whole, I believe only academic excellence does not help. One must learn finer skills like being able to handle people and situations and only then will be successful. Thank you.

Whenever two new people meet each other, the first thing they ask is what you do. In reality, they are waiting to judge you by your academic qualifications. Also, one's social or professional profile is incomplete without inclusion of a person's education qualifications. Therefore, it is a person's successful acquisition of academic qualifications that grants them a smooth sail in every walk of life.
Academic qualifications ensure you have the right foundation in life. If you basic grounding in Maths, Science, and Language is strong, you can sail through almost all situations in life because these subjects provide you the necessary skills to calculate, to innovate and to communicate. Also, academic qualifications are the validation of all these skills in form of degrees and certificates. Strong academic backgrounds gives people more perspectives and experiences and help make a nation both morally strong and civilised.
People might cite examples of successful people such as Bill Gates who are school dropouts. But the count of the well-placed doctors, engineers, IT professionals, and lawyers is far more and all of these people rely on their formal education for their success, So, being successful in life is the sum total of a person's academic qualifications, their hard work and their dedication.
