12 May, 2022, Nashik---Interact, the student wing of the Rotary Club, organised a 3 day 'He For She' conclave, a campaign for gender equality in Nav Nirman International School. The conclave was held in the Audio-Visual room of the school and was presided over by the administrator of a reputed NGO, Drishti. The main focus was on the idea that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. It was also mentioned that it is also about access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making; it is about valuing different behaviours, aspirations and needs equally, regardless of gender.
The initiative was appreciated by the chief guest, the US Ambassador, Mr. Mark Shaw. The conclave was a great success and the interns did commendable work in organising workshops and panel discussions, cultural programmes, etc. The campaign ended up to be very enlightening.
