How did the Champaran incident bring about a change in the plight of the peasants?
Solution:
The Champaran incident made peasants free from the oppression of British landlords and gave them self-confidence and courage to win over their fear. This was evident in their spontaneous demonstration on the morning of Gandhiji's trial. Also, British landlords gave up control of their estates. They got 25 % compensation along with the awareness that they had rights and defenders.
