Special Correspondent for The Times of India 20 May, 2022, Delhi: The Rotary Club of our district organised a programme on 'Increasing need for Retirement Homes' at RML Stadium, New Delhi. The programme was presided over by Mr. Rajesh Kher, The Chairman of the 'Twilight Homes'. As the Chief Guest of the programme, Mr. Kher clarified the increasing concept of retirement homes and the reasons for their gaining prominence. The students from different schools in the district were invited who came prepared with the questionnaire. The main focus was on the topic 'Why is there need for such homes?', for which he replied that these 'Retirement Homes' remove loneliness or feeling of alienation of the elders when their children move to other cities or countries. They provide all kinds of facilities which make the lives of senior citizens comfortable.
It was followed by poster making, group discussion and a short play which was written and directed by the students. The group discussion highlighted the traditional values and the culture of our country. There was a massive response from the audience and they applauded the programme a lot.
