(ii) Organic Farming: It is a system of farming that relies upon the use of organic inputs for cultivation. It discards the use of chemical inputs.
It helps in promoting sustainable development in following ways:
1. Use of organic resources: Organic farming does not use synthetic chemicals and fertilizers which are petroleum based. Rather it uses manures and compost from wastes of fruits and vegetables which do not harm environment.
2. Eco-friendly: It is environment friendly as it does not have harmful chemicals which pollute soil and water. Healthy soil and water will also be available for future generation.
