(i) Need for promoting Women Education in India:
1. Self-Dependence: If women are educated, they can get better job opportunities or they can also be good in business etc. In this way, they become financially independent. They don't need to look for somebody to fulfill their needs as well as aspirations.
2. Reduction of Inequality: Education is a weapon which helps in reducing inequalities between a man and a woman in every manner.
3. Strengthening of Economy: Women represent almost half of population. So, if investment is done in their education, skill and training, it is not only good for them but also boost the economy with their participation in growth.
(ii) Absorptive Capacity of Environment: It means ability of the environment to absorb the wastes generated due to consumption and production activities in the economy. Environment has the capacity to absorb degradation without causing damage. But if human activities cross the limit and absorptive capacity of environment, it is a serious threat to environment and ultimately, human and other forms of life. For example- when dead plants, animals go into the soil it make soil fertile.
