It consists of three cases followed by questions. There are a total of 12 questions (Q. No. 49 to 60 ) in this section. Attempt any 10 questions from this section. The first attempted 10 questions would be evaluated. P-Did not react eiter with cold or hot water but reacted with steam
Q- Reacted with hot water and the metal started floating
R - Reacted violently with cold water
S- Did not react with water at all
Based on the above observation answer the following:
Case-I:
A student, took four metalsP , Q , R , and S and carried out different experiments to study the properties of metals. Some of the observation were:
- All metal could not be cut with knife except metal R.
- Metal P combined with oxygen to form an oxideM 2 O 3 which reacted with both acids and bases.
- Reaction with water.

Question : 52
Total: 60
The increasing order of the reactivity of the four metals is:
Solution:
Metals which are high above in the activity series react with normal water to replace H 2 , whereas those below it displaces H 2 from hot water/Steam. Metals below them can replace H 2 from acids. But the Metals very below H 2 in the series cannot displace H 2 on reaction with any of these three. Thus, from the given metals, S is least reactive as it did not react with water at all, R is most reactive as it reacted violently with cold water, Q is second most reactive metal as it reacted with hot water to displace H 2 and P is third most reactive metal as it did not reacted with hot or cold water but reacted with steam. Hence the correct order of reactivity is :
S < P < Q < R
Case-II:
The figure shown below represents a common type of dialysis called as Hemodialysis. It removes waste products from the blood. Such as excess salts, and urea which are insufficiently removed by the kidney in patients with kidney failure. During the procedure, the patient's blood is cleaned by filtration through a series of semi-permeable membranes before being returned to the blood of the patient. On the basis of this, answer the following questions:
