Measures to control land degradation in India are :
(i) Soil erosion in hilly areas can be checked by construction of terraces for farming and building of dams.
(ii) Proper discharge and disposal of industrial wastes after tréatment can reduce land degradation.
(iii) Proper management of grazing by animals can be slopped to control over grazing.
(iv) There should be planned management of forests, planting of shelter belts of plants and more importantly more and more plants can be planted to check soil erosion.
(v) There should be control on mining activities.
