Agriculture and industry are complementary to each other in the following ways :
(i) Where Agriculture has been boosted by industries on one hand in turn, it has also encouraged industrial sector, since the raw material produced by the farmers are used by secondary sector.
(ii) Agriculture provides market for industrial goods, for exampleirrigation pumps, fertilisers, insecticides, pesticides, plastic and PVC pipes, machine tool sprinkles, drip irrigation systems etc.
(iii) The agricultural raw materials like jute, cotton and sugarcane has helped in the development of various agro based industries.
