Democracy is very important for promoting dignity and freedom of the citizens. We support the statement through the following argument :
(i) The passion for respect and freedom are the basis of democracy.
(ii) Democracy is based on equality, whether rich or poor, or belongs to any religion and caste to be treated equally.
(iii) Respect and equal treatment of women are necessary ingredients of a democratic society.
(iv) Legal basis which works on the principles of individual freedom and dignity.
(v) Democracy in India has strengthened the claim of the disadvantaged and discriminated castes for equal status and equal opportunity.
