Inflation affects the working capital requirement of a company because a rise in the rate of inflation implies rise in the prices of raw material, labour, etc. This suggests that more funds would be required to maintain the existing volume of production and sales and thus, we can say that requirement of working capital increases as the inflation rate increases. On the other hand, a low rate of inflation suggests less requirement of working capital.
