Autocratic style of leadership, also known as an authoritarian leadership involves a leader with absolute authority and control who dictates policies and procedures of a business. The leader has limited to no trust towards their subordinates and uses fear and punishment as a means to motivate them to work towards achieving organisational goals and objectives also set by the leader. This leadership is based on the principle of centralisation in which the communication flows downward from the autocratic leader to their subordinates leaving no opportunities for feedback.
