Free Rein style of leadership, also known as laissez-faire leadership, literally means "let them do". This implies that there is no intervention of any authority or guide or leader. Under this leadership, the manager determines the policies, programmes and possible limitations for particular actions or tasks and leaves it at the behest of the subordinates who take up leadership roles on their own and complete those tasks and activities. This leadership attempts to boost employee morale and provides opportunities for personal growth. This leadership style however, does not provide any guidance to subordinates when it is required and subordinates may ignore leader's contribution as is no work was done earlier.
