Explain the following rights of a consumer as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2019:
(i) Right to seek redressal
(ii) Right to safety

(i) Right to seek redressal - Consumer has the right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices or restrictive trade practices or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers. This implies that consumers are entitled to seek redressal for their grievances caused by exploitation of unfair trade practices. There are various consumer disputes redressal courts like District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forums at district level, state level and at national level.
(ii) Right to safety: The consumer has a right to be protected against goods and services which are hazardous to life, health and property. Consumers are educated that they should use products which are standardised as this would be an assurance of such products meeting quality specifications.
