State any five responsibilities that should be kept in mind by a consumer while purchasing, using and consuming goods and services.

The responsibilities of a consumer that should be kept in mind while purchasing, using and consuming goods and services are as follows:
(i) Caution - Consumer should be cautious prior to purchasing goods/services from the sellers and insist on its complete information in terms of pricing, brand, quality, warranty, delivery time, customer care service, etc
(ii) Exercise rights - Consumers should responsibly exercise their rights like right to safety, right to be heard, etc and make informed decisions and choices. They should also be aware of their rights to exercise them appropriately
(iii) Insist on cash memo/bill - Consumers should insist on cash memo/bill when purchasing a product/service so that it can be presented as evidence of sale/purchase while filing any complaint.
(iv) Discourage black marketing - Consumers should consciously discourage products/ services from black markets and choose standardised or branded products as grievances (if any) occurring from its usage cannot be addressed easily.
(v) Not get carried away by advertisements - Consumers should not get carried away by misleading advertisements by determining the actual impact from usage of products; services with whatever was suggested in the advertisements. In case of a discrepancy, consumers should inform the sponsor of the advertisement.
