Process of emf generation in a solar cell:
(i) Light falls on the junction. Electron-hole pairs are generated.
(ii) The electron and hole move in opposite direction due to junction field. Electrons move towardsn -side and holes move towards p -side of the junction.
(iii) The two sides of the junction become oppositely charged and a photo voltage is generated.
