Question : 63
Total: 86
What weight of CO 2 can the cylinder hold under similar conditions of temperature and pressure ? ( H = 1 , C = 12 , O = 16 )
Solution:
At STP, 1 mole of any gas occupies 22.4 l . So, at STP, 500 mole of CO 2 will occupy the same space as that of hydrogen.
Molar mass of CO 2 = 12 + 32 = 44 g
∴ 500 moles of CO 2 = 500 × 44
= 22000 g
Thus, the cylinder can hold22 kg CO 2 .
Thus, the cylinder can hold
