It repositioned itself as a FMCG company, offering a wide range of Modern Electronic items, and moved away from traditional marketing to non-traditional marketing. The company focused on quality control and publicity. It also introduced new advertisements featuring film stars and sports personalities. It undertook various brand promotion methods.

Explain any five Non-traditional markets.

Types of non-traditional markets are.
(i) Automatic Vending Machines: These machines are mainly used by well known brands of products of daily use and are installed at public places. Customers insert coupons/cash in the machine and collect the product.
Examples: Tea/ coffee vending machine, cold drinks vending machines.
(ii) In-Home Market: Salespersons make door-to-door visits and offer products to the consumers. In India Eureka Forbes is marketing its consumer durables like water filters through in-home or direct selling. However, this method is very time consuming and costly.
(iii) Catalogue Market : In Catalogue market, sample of products are kept in the showroom alongwith a catalogue, which contains the details of goods and their prices. Customers place the order after selecting the product from catalogue and examining the samples. Then the orders are sent to the warehouse for supply. In order to attract a higher volume of sales, catalogue markets sell goods at heavy discounts.
(iv) Telemarket : This type of market, involves selling on Television. Features of the products are demonstrated on television and orders are placed by customers on toll-free numbers which is executed through courier.
(v) Mail Order Market : In this market, the seller sends price lists and other information of the products to the customers via e-mail. The products are dispatched through V.P.P. or courier after receiving orders from the customers.
