(ii) 5x – 1 < 24

Dividing by 5, we get x < 5
From (i) and (ii)
–5 < x < 5 or x ∈ (–5, 5)
Dividing by 5, we get x > –5
(ii) 5x – 1 < 24
Adding 1, 5x < 25
Dividing by 5, we get x < 5
