How is SO2 an air pollutant?
Solution:  
SO2 present in atmosphere combines with water to give sulphuricacid.
2SO2+O2+2H2O2H2SO4
This is called acid rain. Acid rain causes extensive damage to building andstatues made of marble, limestone, etc. due to its reaction to give CaSO4.
CaCO3+H2SO4CaSO4+CO2+H2O
This way SO2 acts as pollutant.
