Question 55 - 58: In the following cases, find the distance of each of the given pointsfrom the corresponding given plane.

Point(2, 3, –5) ; Plane (x + 2y – 2z = 9)
Solution:  
The given plane is
x + 2y – 2z – 9 = 0 ...(1)
∴ Distance of (2, 3, – 5) from plane (1)
=∣2+2×3−2×(−5)+(−9)1+4+4∣=\left|\frac{2+2\times3-2\times(-5)+(-9)}{\sqrt{1+4+4}}\right| =∣93∣=3=\left|\frac{9}{3}\right|=3
