Formula:

Distance remaining to be covered = Total distance - Distance covered

Calculation:

Let total distance be x km.Distance covered by the person by walking

= x \times \frac{2}{5} = \frac{2x}{5}

⇒ Remaining distance

= x - \frac{2x}{5} = \frac{3x}{5}

Distance covered by the bus

= \frac{3x}{5} \times \frac{1}{3} = \frac{x}{5}

⇒ Remaining distance

= x - \frac{2x}{5} - \frac{x}{5} = \frac{2x}{5}

∴ Required fraction $= \frac{2x}{5} \times \frac{1}{x} = \frac{2}{5}$
