Given: A train is travelling with a speed of 48 kmph The speed of man travelling in the opposite direction = 6 kmph The length of the train = 390m Formula Used: Distance = Speed × Time Calculation: Speed of the train = 48 kmph Speed of the man = 6 kmph Since, they travel in opposite direction Relative speed = Speed of train + Speed of man ⇒ $48+6=54\ \mathrm{kmph}=54\times\frac{5}{18}=15\ \mathrm{m/s}$ ⇒ Length of the train = 390 m ∴ Time taken by train to pass the man $= \frac{\text{Length of the train}}{\text{Relative speed}} = \frac{390}{15} = 26\ \mathrm{s}$
